My client must hire professionals with a CDL or the ability to obtain a CDL.
Should you have experience with facilities like water (HDD), electrical conduit (HDD), etc. PLEASE APPLY! However NG experience is HIGHLY preferable.
If YOU have horizontal directional drilling experience, regardless of the industry PLEASE APPLY!
A Bore Rig Operator shall possess extensive knowledge of operating a horizontal directional drill rig and its locating equipment. The Rig Operator shall be able to anticipate field changes and suggest possible alternatives. The Rig Operator MUST understand the importance and maintain preventive maintenance for the machines they are operating. The Bore Rig classifications shall all be conscious of the terrain and be able to leave the work site as it was found. The Rig Operator must always possess a sense of awareness of their surroundings to keep themselves and everyone around them and the machine safe. The Rig Operator should always follow OSHA and company policies and procedures regarding operating heavy machinery on a job site.
The following are different classifications in reference to Bore Rigs within our client s organization:
BORE RIG OPERATOR- Possess the ability to efficiently and safely operate a directional drilling rig with little to no supervision. Must be able to troubleshoot machinery and equipment when needed. Must be knowledgeable in all job site safety policies and practices.
BORE RIG LOCATER- Possess the ability to efficiently and safely operate a directional drilling rig with no supervision. Must have knowledge of proper care of drill rig and locators. Must be able to read work prints and relate it to the job location. Must be able to efficiently perform tasks required for the operation of underground directional drilling and pot holing around underground utilities and structures. Must be able to accurately calibrate locating equipment and troubleshoot machinery and equipment when needed. Must be able to train colleagues in bore rig operation. Must instruct others on the importance and practices of job site safety.
