Overview:
Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Civil/Structural Forensics Engineer with a P.E. For an immediate need with an industry leading client s organization. With a national presence, the client partner is looking for a specialized engineer who will study materials, homes, and structures that have failed intended use been damaged by natural disasters. The Forensics Engineer will also provide written or oral testimony regarding their findings. Qualified candidates should possess a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license with a background in forensics engineering.


Functions:
  • Forensic (investigative) evaluations residential, commercial, and industrial buildings
  • Forensic investigations include (but may not be limited to) evaluation of storm related damage to roofing and exterior claddings, moisture intrusion, impact damage (tree, vehicle, etc.), foundation settlement, construction defects, etc
  • Prepare precise and unbiased reports based on field inspections and research and consistent with the company s guidelines
  • Consistently meet or exceed the company s performance expectations
  • Identify Failure
  • Collect Evidence
  • Develop Hypotheses
  • Perform Tests
  • Offer Conclusion
  • Offer Testimony


Requirements:
  • Minimum of bachelor s degree of Civil Engineering or closely related program
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License active in states working required
  • Prior civil-structural forensic (investigative) engineering experience is preferred
  • Prior experience in structural engineering with an emphasis in residential construction and foundation design is preferred but not required
  • Ability to travel as needed: Travel to/from inspection sites as required by the company s clients, which may be out of state
  • Professional and timely communication with company clients for assigned projects
  • Must be a self-starter and perform assignments with minimal supervision
  • Must be willing and able perform the physical tasks associated with performing forensic investigations which may include (but not be limited to) climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding; walking on roof slopes; crawling through confined spaces (attics, crawlspaces, etc.); and working in the heat/cold
