GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Full-time Sr. Graphic Designer (architectural creativity, pre-press, post-press, and glass/materials etching)

COMPANY PROFILE
Engineering & Architectural design, consulting, and manufacturing group is seeking a full-time, Sr. Graphic Designer that can contribute to creative fabrication of materials that will be utilized to form buildings and store fronts. This is an international, family-owned organization that is a leader in the retail fa ade industry.

POSITION SUMMARY
GRAPHIC DESIGNER with pre-press design and etching experience needed for a local architectural & engineering firm. Must be creatively inclined and have some familiarity of etching for glass and other hard materials. Unique position that would allow the selected candidate to work independently and with a strong design team. The successful candidate will be detail oriented with excellent layout and proofing skills and have experience with print production and pre-press processes. Must be fluent in graphic applications including Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Selected candidate will be required to learn functions of etching machinery to create hard materials.
Must be able to work with multiple projects and be able to perform within tight deadlines, have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt to a changing environment and acquire new skills.

SKILL SET
The successful candidate will be detail oriented, strongly organized and possess excellent design skills. This person will have experience with graphic design, web design, word press.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Must have existing knowledge or capability to learn and utilize etching programs including:
KCam Laser software
CorelDraw
PDF Converter
AutoCad
Adobe Illustrator
Solidworks
Must have existing knowledge or capability to utilize printing programs:
Fiery XF Pro and
Fiery proServer Premium 6.5
Create designs and layouts for specific printed projects
  • Execute revisions as necessary
  • Prepare and create style guides
  • Create mock-ups and presentation comps as needed
  • Attend creative concept meetings and presentations
  • Team player with other staff designers including constructive critiques, input and job completion
Must be willing to travel a few days a month to Dallas office for corporate meetings and training.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofing, grammar and spelling.
  • Must be confident to take a project from concept to completion.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of pre-press and printing.
  • Problem solve technical issues.
  • Ability to learn and utilize new technology quickly and accurately as it pertains to our business.
