SENIOR AIR QUALITY ENGINEER: BATON ROUGE, LA

FTS is seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented mid- to senior-level Air Quality Engineer for its home office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The successful candidate will have extensive experience with project management, client development, and air quality compliance and permitting, including experience in PSD and NNSR permitting and air quality dispersion modeling.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Project development and management (scope, budget, schedule)
  • Prepare New Source Review, Title V, and state air permit applications
  • Provide technical expertise on complex regulatory issues
  • Conduct air emissions calculations
  • Conduct state and federal (NSPS, NESHAP, MACT) regulatory applicability analyses for industrial processes
  • Conduct air dispersion modeling (AERMOD, etc .)
  • Assist with state and federal (NSPS, NESHAP, MACT) regulatory compliance evaluations
  • Assist with multiple air quality permitting and compliance projects
  • Assist with the preparation of compliance reports (Title V Semi-Annual Monitoring reports, Annual Compliance Certifications, annual emissions inventories, greenhouse gas reports, and other compliance reporting).
REQUIREMENTS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability requirements of this position:
  • BS or MS in engineering (biological, environmental, chemical, or other engineering)
  • Minimum 5 years of air quality consulting and permitting or environmental professional experience; 10+ years preferred
  • Proficiency in the understanding and interpretation of air quality regulations
  • Candidate is expected to have excellent attention to detail and completeness
  • Excellent analytical and technical abilities
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word and Excel)
  • Possess the ability to coordinate and work effectively in a team setting
  • Experience with conducting air quality dispersion modeling (AERMOD, ISC3, Screen3, etc .)
  • EI or PE certification preferre d
  • Multi state permitting experience preferred
