Job Description

New Orleans, LA | Houston, TX: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer with a background in government projects for a position with a busy industrial equipment solutions company. This position is accountable for researching, planning, and preparing accurate and efficient detailed drawings of parts and assemblies using computer aided design (CAD) equipment in accordance with established manual and CAD procedures to communicate engineering ideas, designs, and information. Qualified applicants will have 5-10+ years of direct electrical engineering and design experience.

Develop electrical design, schematics, and drawings in AutoCAD
Interpret mechanical design drawings for electrical requirements (e.G. SolidWorks)
Research supplier products for assembly components
Help establish new and maintain existing standards
Develop and maintain structured, accurate electrical bills of materials
Power up electrical systems and configure hardware per application specifications
Working knowledge of Codes and Standards (NEC, IEC, UL 508A, Category 3 Safety)
Knowledge of power distribution (120V, 480V and 24V DC Control Systems)
Check quality of assemblers and technicians work and respond to inquiries during assembly
Work with Sales and Project Managers to provide input for quote preparation as required
Review standards and compliance requirements applicable to the electrical control systems, provide recommendations as required
Provide guidance and equipment wiring plan to mechanical, manufacturing, and shop departments

Bachelor' s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required
US Citizenship- Must have clearance to work on government projects
5-10+ years Electrical/Controls design experience
Proven electrical design experience involving schematics, motor starters, logic, and controls in AutoCAD Electrical
PLC/HMI programming experience preferably with Allen Bradley or Siemens is preferred
Strong background in documenting design work
MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacy
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Must have ability to prioritize and demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Must successfully complete drug and background screening
