Job Description

FTS is seeking a Service Technician for a company that specializes in control system integrations, provides 24/7 monitoring solutions, distributes critical parts, including controls and starters for marine and industrial engines and turbine applications. Travel required.

Summary: Work under supervision and be responsible for the execution of repair/maintenance work at facilities /on site / on board by performing designated duties personally. Be independent after giving instruction for the execution of scope of work. Attend provided trainings.

Responsibilities:
  • In-house repairs and outside field support on governors and other products
  • Field Service and technical support by phone
  • Field support as required on Woodward, Regulators Europa, Heinzman and Diesel Kiki Actuators and mechanical and electronic Governors and Power-Management controls
  • Field Support as required on HMI / SCADA programming, A Studio, Indusoft, IFix, Citect, Wonderware, RSView and AVR configuring of Basler DECS200, DECS250, DECS400, ABB Unitrol, KRAL Flow Meters, Scada, PLC and Schaller Automation products
  • Technical product and application assistance for inside and outside sales
  • Customer training
  • Repair, calibration, field service support of all Woodward actuators and governors
  • Repair, calibration, field service support of all Regulators Europa governors
  • Repair, calibration, field service support of all Diesel Kiki governors
  • Assist in building and testing electrical cabinets for client engineered systems
  • Assist as required for small in-house jobs
  • Field/shop service execution
  • Work with portable/shop equipment on site
  • Reporting to Supervisor and work according to manufacturer specifications and client ISO standards.

Position Qualifications
  • Knowledge
    • Mechanical Basic knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic components; knowledge of auxiliary systems and components.
    • Equipment Capable to work with portable equipment on site, including digital camera, etc. To provide condition reports.
    • Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Explorer, Internet usage and connection.
    • Safety - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, and safety procedures.

  • Skills
    • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
    • Mathematics - Be able to execute works.
    • Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of computer hardware and software required for work performance, including MS Word, Internet usage and connection.

  • Abilities
    • Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information presented through spoken words and sentences.
    • Written Comprehension - The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
